many shades of green™
The furniture in our many shades of green™ line is made to order and constructed of solid Hevea wood.
Hevea trees are known for their production of a rubber-like sap. These trees are tapped for their sap, much like a maple tree, and the sap is the main source for most of the world’s latex production.
Hevea trees reach their maturity in 15 years but stop producing sufficient sap after being tapped for 25 or 30 years. After this time, the trees are typically cut down and burned; while a new tree is planted in its place.
Using these discarded trees for furniture production is a great form of sustainability. The density of Hevea can be compared to white oak or teak making it a very strong and durable material and perfect for furniture construction.
Each piece of our many shades of green™ furniture line is painted in a water-based ZERO VOC paint. Our finisher had a long career as a professional automotive painter and has a very skilled hand. The finishing process is painstakingly thorough, with a fine sanding between each coat, creating a flawless finish.
Choose one of our 30 colors inspired by the Island of Martha’s Vineyard for any piece in our many shades of green™ line.
As each piece is made to order, we ask that you allow 6 to 8 weeks for completion.
